File Not Found
(The dreaded 404)

When this happens to me, it's often due to one of the following reasons, listed in descending order of frequency:

• I've typed the URL wrong.
• The site I'm trying to reach is having problems.  Sometimes I can try again immediately
  and I get through okay; sometimes not.
• The URL is no longer valid, the previous supporter presumably having gone on to
  something that's more fun.
  

If you're failing to reach a URL that is internal to the AUE Web site, please let me
<[email protected]> know, and I'll see if I can do something about it.

The file I'm adapting this from has at this point:   Return to <www.alt-usage-english.org>, but I wouldn't usually want to do that.  I'd rather just push my browser's 'Back' button and go back where I was.
